New SORH Staff

Welcome to the team!

Congratulations on your new position with a State Office of Rural Health (SORH)! If you are new to rural health, we want you to know you’ve chosen work that makes a difference in the lives of people in your state, in the rural communities you are charged to serve, and even at the national level. NOSORH is here to help you. Our mission is to increase the capacity of SORH and its stakeholders to improve health care in rural America through leadership development, advocacy, education, and partnerships.

Resources

Here are a few resources to help you get started in your new role:

    • Your SORH Environmental Scan – An Environmental Scan (eScan) is the identification and monitoring of national, state, and local factors that may impact the long-term viability of rural communities. In short, “what’s going on in your space.” This is a suggested guide of resources that can be helpful for new and seasoned SORH staff. It is not suggested that you complete all the steps in one sitting.
    • Find Your Regional Representative – Each region is assigned two NOSORH representatives to act as NOSORH ambassadors, linking NOSORH with SORH staff and partners.
