A Presidential Proclamation was issued by President Biden, declaring November 18, 2021, as National Rural Health Day (NRHD)-and what a day it was! The 11th annual NRHD saw an incredible number of nationwide events held by State Offices of Rural Health, rural partners, communities, providers and other stakeholders.
The 2021 Community Stars e-book already has over 2,000 views! This year’s book (also available for purchase in a hard copy format) tells the inspiring stories of individuals/organizations from all 50 states who are dedicated to improving health in their rural communities. A big thank you to all who took the time to nominate.
NOSORH was honored to collaborate with numerous partner organizations to celebrate the “Power of Rural.” Featured activities included a weeklong lineup of events hosted by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy and other national agencies/organizations. The Rural Medical Education (RME) Collaborative partnered with NOSORH for the 3rd annual Rural Health Clinical Congress, a virtual CME/CE event geared toward rural primary care clinicians. The event welcomed 564 unique learners throughout the day! NOSORH hosted the live web event Telling the Rural Star Stories, featuring the 2021 Community Stars. The event recording can be found here. Additionally, NOSORH and the RHIhub co-hosted the Twitter chat “Digital Equity and the Health of Rural Americans” with special guests from the American Telemedicine Association, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the American Hospital Association, and many others. Click here for a transcript of the chat and resources shared.
As always, NOSORH greatly appreciates the engagement of nationwide partners and the 50 State Offices of Rural Health! Your support helps broaden NRHD’s reach, create new partnerships, and bring national attention/awareness to the fantastic work in rural and underserved areas. Let’s keep the Power of Rural momentum going – join NOSORH for the 12th annual National Rural Health Day on Thursday, November 17, 2022!
