The Rural Health Information Hub and the NORC Walsh Center for Rural Health Analysis have released a new AI in Rural Healthcare Toolkit. This free resource supports rural healthcare organizations as they consider whether and how to adopt artificial intelligence. The toolkit covers the opportunities and limitations of AI in rural settings, offers guidance on selecting tools and responsible data use, and shares program models for clinical decision support, telehealth and remote patient monitoring, clinical documentation, billing, and scheduling. It also features examples of rural organizations successfully using AI, along with guidance on implementation, evaluation, funding, and sustainability.
