This year, National Rural Health Day (NRHD) will be celebrated on November 20th. To help State Offices of Rural Health (SORHs) get ready for NRHD, NOSORH is contracting with Emmy award-winning journalist and media consultant, Kelly Peterson, whose work has been featured on numerous television networks nationwide. Peterson is available to help SORHs produce inspiring and memorable stories, refresh key messaging, and develop stronger relationships with the media—all at no cost to them.
“Kelly will be working with SORHs to assess their capability to create their own story and guide them in the process, be it a video or a written story,” said Matt Strycker, NOSORH Special Projects Coordinator. “If the state chooses, or has the budget, she will help them find the means to create a video for their state. The overall goal is for Kelly to give the SORHs a checklist on how to create their story, work with their state government, as needed, and market their work.” SORHs can schedule their time with Peterson by contacting contact Paige Law, NOSORH Information Assistant, at email@example.com.
As we begin to gear up for this annual celebration, NOSORH is looking for volunteers to join the Communications Committee to work on NRHD. To volunteer, or for more information, please contact one of the Communications Committee co-chairs, Karen Madden (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Kylie Nissen (email@example.com).
