NOSORH committees are great focal points for engaging in many NOSORH initiatives.  Descriptions of all committees and contact information can be found on the NOSORH website.

Communications- The Communications Committee began brainstorming National Rural Health Day (NRHD) webinar topics and speakers. The former NRHD website ( moved to the NOSORH website at Please let the Committee know of any NRHD activities being done at the state level. A Request for Proposals was distributed to identify a public relations or marketing/communications firm to support NOSORH’s work to assess and apply the “Power of Rural” key messages to all internal and external communications. Please note the new regularly scheduled meeting time has been changed to the first Tuesday of every month at 2:00 pm ET.

Educational Exchange- The Educational Exchange committee began work on several new educational tools and resources, including a series of fact sheets on telehealth. Volunteers are still being sought to participate in the Travel Scholarship and SORH Proficiencies work groups. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on August 15 at 4:00 pm ET.

Flex –Kassie Clarke shared a first draft of the Working with Vulnerable Hospitals & Communities toolkit. NOSORH is collecting examples of SORH work for the toolkit, so please contact Kassie Clarke for more information and to share your work. The committee also reviewed the CMS proposed rule, Hospital and Critical Access Hospital Changes to Promote Innovation, Flexibility, and Improvement in Patient Care comments shared by the PPMT Committee. PPMT – The new requirements for CAH Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Programs and the requirement for CAH Infection Prevention and Control and Antibiotic Stewardship Programs may have substantial impact on CAHs.
