NOSORH committees are great focal points for engaging in many NOSORH initiatives.  Descriptions of all committees and contact information can be found on the NOSORH website.

Board – The NOSORH Board of Directors met in January to review the needs of State Offices of Rural Health, meet with Federal Office of Rural Health Policy staff, to reflect on accomplishments from the last year, and plan for the 2016-18.  Upcoming activities include a focus on data resources for SORH, focusing educational efforts and growing the understanding of work SORH are engaged in related to system reform.  The Board expects to review and adopt 2016-18 strategies in April.

Development – The Development Committee continued to discuss NOSORH developing a robust set of data services to increase SORH capacity.  The committee also discussed creating PR materials for the 25th Anniversary of many SORH this year.  They began discussing providing meaningful partnerships with our sponsors at the Annual Meeting and increasing NOSORH’s sponsor base with a focus on the Power of Rural messaging.

Educational Exchange Committee – The Educational Exchange Committee conducted a survey of all State Offices on their knowledge and experience with the opportunities related to Mentoring and Travel Scholarships. The Committee will use this information as they begin strategically planning for educational activities for the next year. The committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the survey.  Alisa Druzba (NH) has accepted the position as co-chair of the committee.  The next meeting will occur March 21, 2016.

Executive Committee – The Executive Committee is working with the Executive Director and the Board to follow up on the work of the Board during its 2016 planning meeting to refresh the NOSORH strategic plan for the 2016-18 years.

Rural Health Clinic Committee – The RHC Committee is reviewing updated versions of two toolkits focused on providing Technical Assistance for RHCs relating to Quality Improvement and Behavioral Health initiatives.  The committee is also planning a 3-day Virtual Conference to highlight these issues in RHCs and how SORHs can assist RHCs in their endeavors to improve quality of care, access to health services and operational stability.  The committee is working on a new toolkit that focuses on RHC Engagement in Healthcare Reform and Payment Delivery.
