Favorite thing about working at a SORH: Networking with all of the Region B folks
The SORH work that I am most proud of: Reaching over 30,000 NC residents with the state telepsychiatry program
What I’m working on right now: COVID-19 Healthcare Coalition (to coordinate NC’s response and collaboration)
3 great things about rural health in North Carolina: 1) Tammy Norville (lives in NC!) 2) Great funding for NC ORH 3) Mountains, beaches & lots in between
Last place I traveled to: Cancun, Mexico
My top 3 goals for 2020: 1) Win a national pickleball tournament 2)Take time to re-energize myself 3) Make time for my family
What I’m currently reading: The New Yorker
If I weren’t doing this, I would be…teaching or coaching (high school kids)
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Speak French
What advice do you have for new NOSORH members? Don’t be afraid to say, “I don’t know, what can you teach me?” Also, don’t get overloaded!
What does the Power of Rural mean to you? It means forgetting about differences and getting things done by working together.
